Dr. Alan A. Katz, MD, FUHM, FAAEM, FACEP, is a distinguished expert in Hyperbaric and Emergency Medicine with over three decades of experience. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, and completed his internship and Emergency Medicine residency at LIJ Medical Center. Dr. Katz holds dual board certifications in Hyperbaric and Emergency Medicine and is a respected fellow of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.

His leadership experience is extensive, including roles such as regional director for a national emergency medicine management group, academic faculty positions, and chairmanships at various emergency physician groups. Dr. Katz has a deep clinical interest in metabolic health and integrates regenerative and metabolic medicine techniques with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

As a former Board Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Katz contributed significantly to maintaining high standards in Emergency Medicine. He has held key roles, including President of the UHMS – Northeast Chapter and currently serves as Chair of the national committee on office-based hyperbaric medicine practice appointed by the UHMS.

Dr. Katz also plays a pivotal role in the Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health as a board advisor, and at  Hyperbaric Medical Solutions, where he directs all clinical, educational, and research initiatives.  His innovative work includes developing unique protocols to enhance physiologic responses in HBOT.

Renowned as an educator, Dr. Katz is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Professor of Medicine at the Metropolitan University College of Medicine in Antigua. Additionally, he has shared his expertise at prestigious institutions and societies. His global collaborations have led to the development of state-of-the-art HBOT protocols, enhancing patient care and outcomes. 

He also employs various modalities like platelet-rich plasma in conjunction with hyperbaric oxygen for tissue repair and illness recovery. His expertise extends to the use and delivery of orthobiologics, as well as both intranasal and intravenous exosomes, and cultured mesenchymal stem cells. He serves as a consultant in Longevity and Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Katz’s clientele includes notable figures from various fields, and he has been featured in media outlets like ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS News Radio. An author of several publications and a contributor to a recent textbook on regenerative medicine, Dr. Katz actively shares his insights through his blog and LinkedIn, engaging a global audience.
